剧情简介
1988年，日本东京发生大爆炸，毁灭了整个东京，造成严重伤亡。31年后，2019年，灯火辉煌的新东京被再重建起来。繁华之下却又充斥着无所不在的丑恶，示威者与警察和军队间的冲突、小型帮派之间的殴斗、经济萧条社会政治局势动荡不安。新东京除了暴力，似乎只有颓废。国家的命运，掌握在最高委员会的手中，所以军方一直在秘密进行着一项名为“阿基拉”的研究。
金田与铁雄是自小便在孤儿院认识的朋友，以金田为首的飞车党在一次与另一飞车党（小丑党）战斗中，成员铁雄因为与小丑党其中一名成员战斗，而撞到一个超能力小孩（高志）而受重伤，不久政府军方前来带走了高志，同时铁雄亦被军方给带走。因为这次意外事故，铁雄开启了自身的超常神秘力量，铁雄就获得了惊人的能力，能力可与阿基拉匹敌，拥有凌驾于一切之上的能力的铁雄，慢慢的他发现自己的意志力强大得足以和军队抗衡，现代武器也对付不了他。于是一直不满于被金田等人保护的铁雄，开始疯狂地按照自己的意志来做自己想做的事情，后来他想找到阿基拉向他挑战。
