Zane Ziminski是一名害羞内向的外太空文明研究者，一直以来都相信外太空存在着除人类以外的文明，但苦于没有证据。这一天，他接收到一束来自外太空的有规律的信号，Zane欣喜若狂，但其上司却以为他胡言乱语将其解雇。Zane不死心，在家里继续监测信号，发现这些信号是发向地球内部，也就是说，外星人不但存在，而且已经潜入了人类世界。他一路追踪这些信号，来到了墨西哥一个偏僻的村落。在那里，他遇到了一位研究全球气候突变的女科学家，两人发现。外星人正试图改变地球的气候状况，使人类灭绝，从而接管地球。情况紧迫，怎样才能阻止这场劫难的发生呢……
