剧情简介丹尼尔·希拉德的职业是为动画片配音，因为工作观念难以与合作者协调，愤而辞去工作。回家后他领着孩子们“大闹天宫”，惹恼妻子米兰达，并使她最后下决心与丹尼尔离婚。法院判决准许离婚，丹尼尔只有周末探望孩子的权利。
这时米兰达登广告招聘管家 。丹尼尔灵机一动，在化装师的帮助下乔装成一个老妇人，以“道特菲尔太太”的名义前去应聘，还真得到了这份有效期事。上任不久就碰上米兰达在家里接待新任男友，丹尼尔暗中作梗，结果不了了之。后来，当丹尼尔在卫生间站着撒尿时被儿子撞见，他不得不坦白交待……
