【劇情簡介】：某天，毛利偵探事務所接到了知名舞台劇女演員牧樹裏的委託。委託內容是牧樹裏收到怪盜基德預告信，信中指出怪盜基德將在舞台上奪取牧樹裏佩帶的藍寶石戒指－「命運的寶石」。於是毛利小五郎接受保護寶石的工作，依據毛利小五郎的推理，基德將在演出的最後一天前來盜取這顆無價的寶石。在演出的最後一天，毛利小五郎、小蘭和柯南受邀觀賞舞台劇，在劇場裡錯綜複雜的人群中，基德到底會假扮成誰出現在大家面前？在緊張的埋伏等候中，出現在大家面前的竟然是工藤新一！？ 柯南一方面必須保護寶石，另一方面又不能拆穿基德假扮的工藤新一，因為拆穿基德就等於公開自己身體縮小的秘密。柯南只好盯緊假的工藤新一，一刻都不能鬆懈。就在舞台劇即將落幕之前，柯南發現假的工藤新一不見了，隨即追上，但卻在一片混亂之中來是讓基德逃脫了。不過，「命運的寶石」終究是保護住了，牧樹裏為了表示感謝，邀請毛利偵探前往北海道函館的別墅度假，同行的還有一同演出的其他演員。就在大家都搭上飛機前往函館的機艙裡，一幕精心設計的殺人劇碼就在大家面前實際上演了。柯南除了要防止基德再度混入人群中，又要解開發生在飛機上的密室殺人事件，到底柯南要怎麼行動？
