KONAMI于今年夏季在PSP平台推出的奇幻冒险AVG「神隐之狼」，因有着担任游戏原案・监督的龙骑士07(代表作：「寒蝉鸣泣之时」「寒蝉鸣泣之时」)以及担当人设的PEACH-PIT(代表作：「蔷薇少女」「守护甜心」)加盟，而引起众多ACG FANS的关注。根据其改编的TV动画将于2010年1月播放，由出品了「轻声密语」「猫愿三角恋」的AIC担当动画制作，监督是曾执导「天地无用」「07-GHOST」的高本宣弘，系列构成将由「幸运星」「Tears to Tiara」的待田堂子担当，人设是「战场女武神」的渡边敦子；CAST方面则沿用游戏版的阵容。除了强大的制作阵容，还请来了著名音乐人梶浦由记领衔的歌姬组合FictionJunction和南里侑香分别为动画献唱片头曲和片尾曲，使得本作成为2010年1月新番备受瞩目的作品之一。
【STORY】
16岁的少年九澄博士，迁居到离市中心较远的山间的一个新兴住宅区嫦娥镇生活。被河川分为“旧市街”和“新市街”的这个小镇，至今也残留着很多充满神秘色彩的奇异传说和风俗。
在这个环境中开始享受全新的生活，却在意着班上唯一与他保持距离的、担任班委的少女栉名田眠。在少数的接触中，她给予博士忠告：“不要接近旧市街”。在那里会有什么？恐怖和谜团开始交错……
